Reimagining HR with a new hire
When we brought our two complimentary businesses together earlier this year, we did so with collaboration at its heart – for our people and our clients. Recognising that talking, co-operation and partnership are the most effective ways of making a positive difference.
Jumar has always been a ‘people business’ and is the reason we felt that the traditional ‘human resources’ model was no longer for us and didn’t reflect our core values.
‘Teams don’t grow and flourish because you have a great suite of policies, they thrive when you really care and set them up for success’ Sarah Wright, People Director at Jumar.
So, alongside several other key strategic hires, we have recently welcomed Sarah Wright to Jumar as People Director. Sarah joins from retail technology consulting firm REPL, where she took the organisation from 300 - 650 people in just 17 months and supported its recent takeover by Accenture.
Sarah is passionate about people transformation and hugely supportive of a positive culture that lives its values and leads to a motivated and engaged workforce. Underpinned by her belief that people should be able to bring their whole selves to work and feel happy, comfortable, and supported, Sarah will work alongside the Board to build on the solid foundations already created by the current team and assist our people to be the best they can be through a people first ethos.
Sarah said about her recent appointment, ‘ I’m delighted to be joining Jumar at such an exciting time to grow our family of engaged and motivated people to make it an even greater place to work. Jumar has a huge amount of talent and I’m excited to be able to work with all of our people to allow them to grow professionally and flourish in a modern and inclusive environment.’
Matt Fox, Chief Operating Officer for Jumar said, ‘We are all really pleased to have Sarah join us. The traditional HR model that operates as a support function to a business is outdated and we recognise we have some great talent that we want to nurture and grow that supports our long-term vision. Pivoting our people function into a strategic partner, with Sarah at the helm, made sense, and I’m excited to see our people-centred culture burst into a new life!’
